Saturday Nightcap

Well, I seem to be managing to build a habit of posting something in the evening before I go to bed, and I think that's probably a good thing. A habit makes it harder for me to cut myself off and become a hermit. So, here it is. I feel like I need a name ofor this habit; and as it's kind of putting a cap on the day, I'm calling it a nightcap. There you go :p
Today I wrote 2203 new words, most of that after 10:30 in the evening, and most of it on a weird short story about someone with a drug problem, which may or may not turn out to be suitable for any kind of audience. It's fun to write, though.

I also went for a walk, and found a nice spot in the Fairfield Community Orchard where I could stand my phone on a rock to take a photo of myself. So, now I've got a photo of myself holding a proof copy of Nightmare Season. I was thinking I could post this picture on facebook and places to try to promote the book, but now I look at it on a big screen, I don't seem to be that happy about it.
In any case, I submitted the final, final, final files for the Kindle version of Nightmare Season. I also reformatted the paperback files using the updated order for the stories. The Kindle version has gone from saying "Print Length: 135 pages" on its amazon listing to 238. Not sure why this should be the case, when the same changes have taken the print version from 315 pages to 352
The print version isn't out yet, because while I've updated it to bring all last-revision edits in sync with the Kindle version, some stray markdown may have crept through. I always check that manually, just to make sure the book looks good. So, there's maybe another 2 hours of work involved before I can actually make both versions available.
I'm suddenly more confident about my earnings, as well. After managing only 1 book sold this month, the longest slump I've had in a year, I checked today and found 15 new copies sold. All paperbacks, all today. Four different titles, between 2 and 8 copies of each. I guess somebody wanted to read them all, or maybe one of my friends wanted to support me by buying them as gifts. In either case, I'm sure thanks are due, but I don't know who to thank. So I'll just send a wave of gratitude, spiralling out into the world.
All in all, I think I've had a pretty good day. And if I can get my brain in gear tomorrow, I might have another book (ebook-only; 25k words) released. Too many projects need the finishing touches, though. I was planning to have Hunter's Gift finished this month as well, but it still needs 2 chapters rewritten. I started writing a story for a contest, and then stalled part way through. I need to catch up with the editing on My Hook's Big Black Box if I'm going to get the book out before the second-draft serialisation on Wattpad (or the first-draft version on G+) finishes. Tomorrow I think I might be rolling a dice, to try to decide what to do.
Wish me luck folks!

Luck!

Does this work?

I'm not sure if KDP will object in some way when it comes to the review process, given that the Kindle-version cover is on the back of the paperback, but I think that should be fine.
